Source markers are distinguished on screen by an optional semi-transparent fill. This option makes it easy to tell at a glance which of your markers on screen are source markers.
To toggle this highlight on or off for all source markers, use the View > On-Screen View Options > Highlight Source Markers command.
To change the color of the source marker highlight, use the color chooser in Options > Work Environment > On-Screen Options.
