GRAPHISOFT BIMx

GRAPHISOFT BIMx lets you create an interactive walk-through model out of your ARCHICAD project. The functions needed to create and share a BIMx model are included in ARCHICAD.

The BIMx model is known as a “Hyper-model” (file format .bimx ). The BIMx model can contain the full documentation of your ARCHICAD project: the 3D model, plus views, layouts and camera paths. However, depending on the application with which you explore the Hyper-model, you may only be able to access the 3D content.

What You Can Do With BIMx:

Open and explore the BIMx model’s 3D content

on the free BIMx Desktop Viewer, available from
http://www.graphisoft.com/downloads/bimx/bimx_desktop.html.

on the free BIMx mobile app on any mobile device

View the project’s full 2D/3D documentation set, within a logical and interconnected structure

on the more sophisticated BIMx PRO mobile app,

For info on the BIMx mobile apps, see http://www.graphisoft.com/bimx/.

Share the BIMx model

to the BIMx Model Transfer Site at bimx.graphisoft.com

BIMx Technical Requirements

Hardware/software requirements for GRAPHISOFT BIMx are the same as for ARCHICAD. The Desktop BIMx Viewer is available in both 32- and 64-bit versions.

For more information, see http://www.graphisoft.com/support/system_requirements/.

BIMx Desktop Viewer can read the 3D content of a BIMx model created in any version of ARCHICAD.

A BIMx model published from ARCHICAD 20 is compatible with the BIMx mobile apps. Users of the mobile apps must first refresh their mobile apps.

When you explore the BIMx model, performance may vary depending on the size of your model and the memory capacity of your video graphics card. If you plan to work with large models, make sure you are using a high-capacity video card.

You can find a list of recommended video cards at: helpcenter.graphisoft.com/video-cards.

If your BIMx model is to be viewed on a mobile device, model size and device compatibility requirements apply.

For more information, consult BIMx Optimization.

As a rule, any ARCHICAD 20 license enables you to use BIMx functions. Some markets may have different license requirements; contact your distributor.
