Zone Listing Parameters

ZONE FIELD

DESCRIPTION

Base Level

Value of the reference level of the Zone, measured from the Story’s elevation. This value is defined in the Name and Positioning Panel of Zone Settings.

Zone_BaseLevel.png

Calculated Area

Zone’s Calculated Area, as seen in the Area Calculation panel of Zone Settings. This value takes into account any area reductions from Walls, Columns, or Fills inside the Zone - but only for those Walls/Columns/Fills which are set to reduce Zone area. This is set in their individual Wall/Column/Fill Settings dialog boxes - Model Panel. (In Fill Settings, see the General Settings panel):

Cover Fill

Name of the Cover Fill assigned to the Zone.

Zone_CoverFill.png

Doors Surface Area

Total surface area of all Doors in the Zone. A Door is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_DoorsSurface.png

Doors Width

Total width of all Doors in the Zone. A Door is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_DoorsWidth.png

Floor Thickness

Subfloor Thickness value. This value is defined in the Name and Positioning Panel of Zone Settings.

Zone_FloorThickness.png

Height

Height of the Zone body measured from the Zone’s bottom elevation. This value is defined in the Name and Positioning Panel of Zone Settings.

Zone_Height.png

Top link story

Name of Zone’s top-linked Story, if any.

Top offset

Offset (if any) of Zone from its top-linked Story.

Zone_TopOffset.png

Holes Perimeter

Total perimeter of holes in the Zone.

Zone_HolesPerimeter.png

Surface

Surface assigned to the Zone.

Zone_Material.png

Measured Area

Returns the total area of the Zone polygon as measured automatically by the program.
For Zones created with the Reference Line method, this value includes the area of the enclosing Walls up to the inner side of their Reference Lines.

Zone_MeasuredArea.png

Number of Beams

Number of Beams in the Zone. A Beam is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_NumberOfBeams.png

Number of Columns

Number of Columns in the Zone. A Column is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_NumberOfColumns.png

Number of Doors

Number of Doors in the Zone. A Door is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_NumberOfDoors.png

Number of Lamps

Number of Lamps in the Zone. A Lamp is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_NumberOfLamps.png

Number of Objects

Number of Objects in the Zone. An Object is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_NumberOfObjects.png

Number of Wall Parts

Number of Wall parts which surround the Zone and determine the Zone polygon in 2D. A single Wall can have multiple distinct parts which form the Zone geometry; each part is counted separately.

Zone_NumberOfWallParts.png

Number of Windows

Number of Windows in the Zone. A Column is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_NumberOfWindows.png

Perimeter

Perimeter of the Zone, corresponding to the Zone polygon at the bottom of the Zone body.

For a Zone created with the Reference Line method, the perimeter is measured along the boundary Walls’ Reference Lines.

Zone_Perimeter.png

Net Perimeter

Perimeter of the Zone, measured along the inner edges of the surrounding Walls (regardless of the position of the Walls’ Reference line).

Zone_NetPerimeter.png

Walls Perimeter

Perimeter of the Walls bounding the Zone.

Zone_WallsPerimeter.png

Zone Name

Name of the Zone as defined in the Name and Positioning Panel of Zone Settings.

Displays name of Zone.

Zone Number

Number of the Zone as defined in the Name and Positioning Panel of Zone Settings.

Displays number of the Zone.

Uniform Surface

This is a toggle (yes/no) value expressed as a checkbox in the Schedule field. If the checkbox is checked, the Zone uses a uniform surface. If it is unchecked, then the Zone faces inherit the surfaces of the surrounding Zone boundaries. This value is set in the Model Panel of Zone Settings. Select a surface for the Zone, then choose either: “Use this Surface on All Zone Faces”, or “Inherit Boundary Wall and Cropping Element Surfaces.”

Displays checkbox status.

Volume

Volume of the 3D Zone body.

Zone_Volume.png

Walls Surface Area

Zone_WallsSurface.png

Windows Surface Area

Surface area of Windows in the Zone. A Window is in the zone if any part of its 2D polygon is inside of, or coincides with the edge of, the Zone’s 2D polygon.

Zone_WindowsSurface.png

Windows Width
