Resolving Issues with Serial Numbers

To be able to use ARCHICAD in Trial or Educational mode, you must in put an email address (User ID) & Serial number.

The Serial number can be obtained by registering a Professional or Educational account on MyARCHICAD.com.

ARCHICAD asks for the email address (User ID) & Serial number at the first launch of ARCHICAD:

After you enter your email address (User ID) & Serial number, ARCHICAD checks if it’s a match with the MyARCHICAD database.

If it detects an issue with your credentials, ARCHICAD displays an error message.

The following points outline the issues that can possibly occur, and explains solutions to each.

What’s Covered

Serial Number is Invalid

Serial Number has Expired

Serial Number Does Not Match the Email Address

Serial Number is Not Valid for the Educational Version

Serial Number is Not Valid for the Trial Version

Serial Number is Valid for Another Language of ARCHICAD

Miscellaneous Issues

Serial Number is Invalid

It often happens that the Serial number contains characters that are visually similar, like 1-I-l, or O-o-0. Make sure that you have typed the exact same characters as you can see on your MyARCHICAD profile. A good way of eliminating this issue is to copy & paste the Serial number from your MyARCHICAD profile page to the ARCHICAD dialog.

Serial Number has Expired

Trial and Educational Serial numbers are issued for a 30 day period from the date of the registration:

Trial mode: Trial licenses cannot be extended.

Educational mode: Once registered on MyARCHICAD.com, students can apply for a 1 year license to extend their 30-day starting license.

Serial Number Does Not Match the Email Address

The entered Serial number is valid, but it is matched to a different email address/username than what is provided in the User ID field. Check your MyARCHICAD profile to see which User ID belongs to this Serial number, then try again.

Serial Number is Not Valid for the Educational Version

The entered Serial number was requested for the Educational/Academic version of ARCHICAD, which is provided to architecture and design students/teachers/schools, who are using ARCHICAD for their studies.

If you are an Educational user, you must obtain an Educational license. Re-register as a Student, as a Teacher, or as a School at MyARCHICAD.com, using a different email address.

Serial Number is Not Valid for the Trial Version

The entered Serial number was requested for the Trial version of ARCHICAD, which is provided to professionals who are trying ARCHICAD out before purchasing a Commercial license.

If you are a professional user who wants to explore ARCHICAD through the Trial version, you must obtain a Trial license. Re-register on the Professional page of MyARCHICAD.com, using a different email address.

Serial Number is Valid for Another Language of ARCHICAD

The entered Serial number is valid, but it has been issued for a different language version of ARCHICAD than the one you are currently running. Go to your MyARCHICAD.com page and check which language version of ARCHICAD you applied for. On this page, you have the flexibility of switching between your language version and the International version of ARCHICAD, both having their own Serial numbers.

To solve this issue, choose the Serial number that is provided for the language version of your installed ARCHICAD. If you would like to use a different language version of ARCHICAD than you have access to through MyARCHICAD, you need to change your Country on the My Account tab of your profile.
