Routing Options

Click the Routing Options button from the MEP Routing palette.

Options you set here will affect the next Routing operation. Available options vary, depending on whether you are doing Ductwork, Pipework or Cabling.

Connection Type

Choose the appropriate type (e.g. Flanged, Welded, Simple), and a height/diameter as applicable.

Insulation

Click the checkbox to add an optional Insulation layer to the outside of MEP elements placed in this Routing operation. Define an Insulation Thickness.

Transition Rule

Transitions are straight segments placed automatically to ensure correct connections if you switch segment geometry (width, height, or shape) in the middle of a routing operation. If the switch occurs at a bend in the route, the transition element can be placed either before or after the bend. Choose your preference (“Place before bend”/“Place after bend”) here.

Bending Radius

Bends are placed automatically as you route. Choose an option to define the radius of bends in this route:

Predefined if applicable

With this option, the bends will have the radius defined for the Predefined Bend you chose at the top of the Routing palette. (Radius values are given at MEP Preferences.)

This applies only if you chose a MEP element type whose cross-section values have been predefined in MEP Preferences.
