Let’s continuing working on the previous example. The diagonal bracing still does not meet the continuity requirements, which in a later stage might lead to some issues in the structural analysis software.
To adjust these, the user should use the snap adjuster.
This allows the structural axis to rotate in order to connect its end nodes to the Beam-Column connection generated with the stretch adjuster.
Notice that this adjuster should be defined to work only for the Beams that are being used to model bracing elements. In this project, such Beams are classified as “Brace”.
Define the Snap rule to adjust only the 1D Members which are classified as “Brace”:
This adjuster type allows you to define the maximum distance of the targeted snap node.
The diagonal bracing will snap to the Columns.
