Support tapered/multi-segment beams and columns in SAF Export

More accurate analytical calculations are now possible, thanks to more precise export and import of tapered or multi-segment beams or columns with varying profiles.

The Structural Analytical Model can now export all the needed cross sections to Structural Analytical Format (SAF), instead of just the single Replacement Profile used in earlier versions.

Handling of varying cross sections is a new, additional option for Archicad 26. Choose this option during later stages of project development, requiring more accurate calculations.

Access the varying cross section option in Beam or Column element settings (for any 1D member with a varied profile):

The “Varying cross sections” option preserves all details of the physical model, exporting all its cross section data

“Varying cross sections” option also lets you choose a “replacement profile”, but its only function is to position the 1D member

Show/hide this replacement profile with new toggle in Structural toolbar - to help you understand and correct Member positioning

When you import the SAF file back to Archicad, the incoming elements, with their varying profiles, are represented accurately in your model.
