Welcome to Archicad Project Compare

Features of Archicad Project Compare

Are you migrating your complex project to a new version? Or having difficulties spotting small changes in your running project?

The new Archicad Project Compare tool is here to help. It shows you what has changed between two project states by visually highlighting hard-to-notice differences.

Review to make sure your deliverables are pixel-perfect. Or verify that your project data hasn’t changed before you continue working, with confidence that the content is right.

Archicad Project Compare is available for projects between any two versions (Archicad 25 and up).

As a user, you download a package containing the two utilities you need:
  1. Archicad Project Compare add-on (for AC25 and up)
  2. Archicad Project Compare tool

This document takes you through the steps to do the audit.

Workflow summary

  1. Make a copy of your Archicad project. This is your backup just in case.
  2. Open the project in the older version of Archicad.
  3. Open the project in the newer version of Archicad to migrate it. (For a Teamwork project: run the Teamwork Migration tool. See Archicad Help)
  4. Install the Archicad Project Compare Add-on in both versions of Archicad, then use the File > Prepare for Archicad Project Compare command to create reference files of the project in both versions.
  5. Install Archicad Project Compare to your computer, launch it, and browse for the two reference files. Run the audit and see the results.
  6. In the Layout Compare window, check and compare the differences in visual detail.

Each step is described in more detail in this guide.
