A MEP System is a saved set of pens, colors and materials used to display MEP elements in your project. MEP Systems are attributes of the ARCHICAD project.
MEP Systems are defined or edited by you at
•Design > MEP Systems
•Options > Element Attributes > MEP Systems
(or use the MEP Systems shortcut from the MEP Engineering Toolbar).
These controls are analogous to those of other ARCHICAD attributes (such as Lines). Create a new MEP System, or rename an existing one.
Check the box of one or more MEP tool categories for which you wish to use this MEP System:
•Ductwork
•Pipework
•Cable Tray
The MEP System (based on the “Use with” availability you define here) can then be assigned to particular MEP tools, to individual MEP connections, or to a Routing operation.
See the following sections:
Assign MEP System in Tool Settings
Assign MEP System to Each Element Connection
Define Settings in Routing Palette
Assign MEP System in Tool Settings
For a MEP-compatible library part that uses a single MEP System (e.g. Duct):
1.In the Tool Settings dialog, go to the General Settings panel.
2.Use the MEP System pop-up to assign an MEP System to the currently selected connection, or else leave the value as “Undefined.”
The MEP System pop-up lists only those MEP Systems that have been defined as applicable to the MEP type of the current element: Ductwork, Pipework or Cable Tray.
This definition is set for each MEP System attribute at
•Design > MEP Systems
•Options > Element Attributes > MEP Systems
Assign MEP System to Each Element Connection
Some MEP elements have multiple connections used for different purposes. For example, a toilet object with freshwater and wastewater pipes.
You can assign MEP System attributes individually to each connection, on the Connections tab page of its Settings dialog:
