MEP-compatible Library Parts (with smart connections for use in duct, pipe and cabling systems) are found in:
•the MEP Library
•the regular Archicad Library
•in the MEP Library on BIMcomponents
MEP Library
The MEP Library contains specially configured MEP elements that you can place using the Accessory, Equipment and Terminal tools - these can be used to start and end MEP routes.
See Place Terminal, Accessory, or Equipment.
MEP-compatible Objects in the Archicad Library
Many familiar elements from the Archicad Library, such as this Basin, include MEP-compatible connection settings, so you can connect them to an MEP route:
Display MEP Connection Ports on Library Parts
1.Go to Document > Model View > Model View Options
2.Open Miscellaneous Settings for Library Parts
3.Enable the Model View Option for Object MEP Connections
Model View Option: Show or Hide MEP Connections on Library Parts
Element Type of MEP-compatible Objects: Object or Equipment
By default, MEP-compatible objects from the Archicad Library are placed with the Object Tool and their element type is therefore “Object.”
For a selected MEP object: Switch its type to Equipment (or back to Object) using the context menu commands.
