Migrating Markers (assigning Renovation Status)

Migrate from Archicad 28 and earlier

As of Archicad 29, Section/Elevation/Interior Elevation, Detail and Worksheet markers also have a Renovation Status.

When you open an older-version file in Archicad 29, the project’s markers will automatically get a Renovation status that helps ensure that your drawings look the same as they did before.

If all the elements in your migrated project use the same Renovation status (typically “New” or “Existing”): all the markers will get that Renovation status, too.

If your elements use various Renovation statuses, Archicad will check which status is set to “Show” in all Renovation filters (typically “Existing”): all markers will get that Reno status, so all markers are still visible on all views.

If your project elements use various Renovation statuses, and the project views use Reno filters with some elements set to “Hide”:

Duplicate linked markers will be created at the same location as the first marker (each with a different Reno status) - this ensures that a marker can still be visible on all views.

For example, a source marker will get “Existing” status. One or more duplicate, linked markers will be created at the same location, with “New” and “To be Demolished” statuses.

Note: Regardless of the Reno status of your markers, a new option in Archicad 29’s Renovation Filter Options lets you exclude markers from getting an override. See Additional Renovation Filter Options for Annotation elements.
