New Features in MEP Design
MEP Designer 2026 strengthens core engineering workflows with more reliable routing, clearer system representation, and enhanced calculation. Standardized schematic symbols improve readability of MEP floor plans across disciplines, while unified system definitions (including route-based line types and colors) make both 2D and 3D documentation easier to interpret. Hydronic calculations and the System Browser now include cooling systems, supporting consistent sizing decisions earlier in the design process.
Day-to-day modeling becomes more stable and less manual. Routes automatically maintain connectivity and alignment as elements change, and broken connections can be detected and repaired with minimal effort. Expanded MEP libraries reduce the need for custom content, while a new override displays the transparent architectural model, allowing MEP systems to be evaluated in context without constant layer management.
Finally, MEP Designer delivers a first, experimental step toward electrical design, so you can start modeling and documenting a building’s power distribution in BIM. This is a foundational development, with no commitment yet to preserving compatibility in future releases.
