Electrical Systems
MEP Designer introduces foundational electrical design capabilities that let you model and document a building's electrical power distribution directly within your BIM environment. Use the new Electrical Panel and Electrical Device tools to place electrical panels, outlets, and switches, and organize them into named circuits that reflect real-world electrical power distribution logic. The Electrical Load object is available as a flexible early-design-stage object (to represent objects that represent electrical load on circuits, such as light fixtures).
Centralized Electrical Project Settings give you control over the voltage value for the main supply, load classifications, and wiring types. Circuits can be visualized on floor plans with MVO-controlled display options and can be listed in schedules. Electrical panels and devices can be labeled and scheduled through the Interactive Element Schedule, and IFC classifications ensure your electrical elements export with correct semantic meaning.
The feature set of this foundational development represents a first, experimental step toward electrical design, so you can start modeling and documenting a building’s power distribution in BIM.
